Planning and Zoning Commission Regular Meeting June 1, 2010 6:00 p.m. City Council Chambers

Members Absent: Mayor Roger Logdahl and Ann McGarry

Also Present: City Clerk/Treasurer Michael McKinney

David called the meeting to order at 6:01 p.m.

Approval of the May 4, 2010 Regular Planning & Zoning Commission Meeting Minutes

Motion by Howard McKinney, second by Heinecke, to approve the May 4, 2010 Regular Planning & Zoning Commission meeting minutes as submitted, motion carried unanimously (MCU).

Bigfork Comprehensive Plan

The Planning & Zoning Commission discussed the upcoming comprehensive planning process. The Commission expressed interest in establishing a committee that would be responsible for guiding this process. Howard McKinney felt that it was important to find individuals to join this committee with a vested interested in the community. He also felt that the comprehensive plan was long overdue since many priorities have been ignored in favor of projects that are not as important. The Commission asked the City Clerk/Treasurer to contact the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission to ask them to put together a questionnaire with around 10-20 questions that could be distributed amongst local citizens, which would also encourage respondents to participate in the planning process. The Commission agreed to meet again before the next City Council meeting on June 8, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. to discuss the questionnaire and possible appointments to the comprehensive planning committee.

No formal action was taken on this agenda item.

Other Business

David asked the City Clerk/Treasurer to come up with estimates of the future water needs of Bergquist and the Hospital before the next Planning & Zoning Commission meeting.

The Planning & Zoning Commission meeting was adjourned by David at 7:30 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at 6:00 p.m.
