Planning and Zoning Commission Meeting June 2, 2009

Members Present: Gus David Amy Tendrup and Ann McGarry Members Absent: Roger Logdahl and Lonnie Kacon Also Present: Chuck Almhjeld

Chairman Gus David called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Motion to approve the May 5, 2009 minutes by Tendrup, seconded by McGarry, motion carried unanimously (MCU).

Utility Billing Issues: The Commission discussed how to deal with multiple houses connected to one service line. It was determined that the ordinance should be left as written and Almhjeld should work with property owners who have these types of services to determine the most fair way of billing in each situation while complying with the ordinance. The Commission also discussed the process for the City to deal with unpaid utility charges. As this had been recently reviewed and amended due to legal issues presented by the League of Minnesota Cities, a motion was made by Tendrup to recommend to the City Council that the process be left as is, seconded by McGarry, MCU.

OTHER BUSINESS

The Planning Commission meeting was adjourned at 6:34 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for July 7, 2009.
